Hello, and welcome to the new website of 1262 (Blackburn) Squadron, this Squadron has been apart of the Blackburn Cadet scene since 1941, making us one the oldest squadrons in the UK. I am proud to be in command as a SNCO and hope the Squadron will continue to thrive and grow through out the upcoming years.

1262 Squadron provides a shared experience for all cadets in learning aviation-related skills like those cadets who came before us and also in developing leadership skills, life skills and discipline which can help our cadets not only if they choose to apply for a military career, but these skills will help in a civilian career after school or college.

It is my hope the Squadron will become a ‘more-embedded’ part of the local community as we continue to develop relationships with the community. Cadets are the reason for the Squadron to exist and without their commitment to us we cannot do anything. The Squadron is a fantastic credit to The RAFAC and I hope that in the years to come it will continue to go from strength to strength.

I would like to encourage all visitors to this website to read and take a look at what we do and if you’d like to know more you can contact us from this website, we also hold monthly open evenings for prospective cadets who’d like to join our ranks.

I hope to see you soon.
